Rooks Fight For Last Minute 4-4 Tie - Week 4 League Recap

The Rooks take home one point and retain their position in 5th place, tying 3rd place ranked Polonez SC at 2:00pm this past Sunday Dec. 16th.

Edgewater Castle FC -  4-4 - Polonez SC

Goals From: Robel Gebreslassie, Issak Erkapic, Edgar Oropeza, Murtadha Kamil

Coaches Notes:

“Good performance by the ROOKS today. Our defensive shape was good but unfortunately, we conceded goals after individual errors.  The result on the scoreboard did not matter much to us. We just wanted to play our game because we knew we would create scoring opportunities playing our own system, we converted 4 of them, and with a little bit of luck and composure in front of opponents goal we would have won this game. Their GK had an outstanding game as he had some unbelievable saves. I am very happy that we are team of unified fighters, we do everything together and we always fight to last minute of the game… We were down 3-1 and we were able to come back and had chances to win… We have to remember that Polonez is always fighting for top spots in Division 1, last year they got 1st place indoor and 2nd place outdoor, so against an opponent of this quality, we played a very good game, I can already see that our players are getting comfortable playing indoor. I am proud of all of our players but Gabriel Masalu had an outstanding game as he was rock solid in the back… we are looking forward into the next week of practice and a good game on Sunday.” - Head Coach Wojtek Piotrowski
