Rooks Take Home Another Hard Fought Draw Against Schwaben AC

Our hometown Rooks put out another great effort in their second outdoor preseason match of 2019. Though Schwaben AC brought out a very different playing style than RWB Adria last week, ECFC was able to adjust to the patterns of play and shore up a 2-2 draw in the final 15 minutes of the game. We members of ECFC are very proud of the drastic difference between our current playing style and that which we portrayed at the end of last years outdoor exhibition season.

Edgewater Castle Fc 2- 2 Schwaben SC

Goals: Robel Gebreslassie, Freddy

Coaches Notes:

“I am very happy as our GM picked completely different teams for our Friendlies. First game against Adria we had to defend deep as Adria like to keep possession, Second game against Schwaben was different as they are more direct and put a lot balls in the box so we had to deal with longer balls.

I think we had another good performance; I feel like with a little composure in final third we could have score at least two more goals and win this game.  I really like how we keep defending as unit by staying compact and keeping our shape well, forcing teams to exchange passes on their own half. The goals we conceded was due to our individual mistakes not them outplaying us. It was our second game outdoor so we are not there yet with how we are trying to play in attacking sense but we focused on defending organization more also some guys play out of position. What I am not happy with is that some of our players picked up some injuries, but I think they should be back in week or so. These last two games showed us the we can compete and that the hard work is paying off,  it lets me look with optimism into our next games.”
